FAQs
Expectations of both VIRTUAL & TRADITIONAL Students
"I am implementing a 'paperless classroom' for all students in order to prepare for a seamless transition from traditional to online instruction. This will allow us to practice and become comfortable navigating an online classroom. I encourage all students to become familiar with Google Meet as we all may be using it in the future."

Do I need a printer at home?
- You do not need a printer, but if you do I would encourage you to print the materials.
- This will make it easier for you to complete worksheets directly on the worksheet rather than using scratch paper.
- It will also make my life easier when grading your work.
- For those that do not have a printer, I encourage you to make your scratch paper reflect the worksheet as close as possible.
- Your scratch paper should show:
- Title of the Worksheet (Top)
- Your First and Last Name
- Page Numbers (Bottom Center)
- Answers should be highlighted
- Try and number your problems just as they are oriented on your worksheet. The problems may be numbered across or down the page.
- The more your scratch paper resembles the worksheet, the easier it is to grade. The less mistakes I make grading your paper is GOOD FOR YOU!
How and Where do I submit my work?
- Google Classroom
- You will submit photos of your work.
- Be sure your pictures are BRIGHT and CLEAR.
- You will be expected to have paper at your disposal to work problems.
- You may use college ruled or blank copy paper.
- If I assign three worksheets, I will expect three sheets of paper. In other words, do not fit three worksheets into one page of work. That is confusing to decipher through.
- If I assign a worksheet packet, be sure to submit each worksheet within the packet. For example, if I have given ten worksheets within a packet, I will expect ten sheets in return.
- If you only completed seven sheets out of the packet, I will still expect to see the blank pieces of paper. I would encourage using a number system at the top right hand corner to number your worksheets (Page 1, Page 2,...).
- I ask that you be NEAT and HIGHLIGHT your answers.
How will I participate in class in real time?
- I will present a lesson to the class and then work through examples to model how they should be worked.
- I will often ask you to work a problem independently.
- You will have the ability to show your paper and your work to me using the camera on Google Meet. I will then provide you feedback just as I would students in my classroom.
- As I am presenting the lesson, you will have access to multiple screens including the Smart Board and the White Board.
- Once independent work is assigned, you will continue to be logged in and I will visit my screen periodically to see if there are any questions.
- Google Meet offers a chat option, so you could also send some short questions on the side and I will eventually address them.
- You will be logged in for the entirety of my class before logging in to your next class. It is good that you work from home while remaining logged in so that you are granted access to having your questions answered.
- ATTENTION: There will be a restroom break during the class. During this time, I will end the Google Meet for approximately 5 minutes and will have you log back on at an announced time using the same Google Meet Link.
- I will post all materials to Google Classroom so that Virtual Students have access just as the Traditional Students.
- Quizzes and Tests will be posted on demand when the Quiz or Test is given.
